7. Since it's their ad, it's probably on their site. I saw it earlier on
georgewbush.com. Hey, better to use their bandwidth than ours.

3. yeah, it's pretty funny, but pretty bland. They could change the
voice over and show an SUV at the end, and it would be the car ad it wants to be when it grows up.

22. Well, since Repukes hate the environment and the natural world
it was probably pretty scary to them. I mean, most of them buy a Land Rover to go to the grocery store, and their only contact with the wilderness is cutting the lawn.

31. They Do. They are Destroyers.
You got it (the first part). I would say, for the second part though, that the more violent among them do UNFORTUNATELY contact the wilderness. That's when they go to slay innocent animals and mow down habitats. "Want some wood?" is not that funny if you think about it.

10. The guy who runs the "New Donkey" blogsite...
Made the comment that they should have tested this ad on kids--to make sure none of them pointed at the screen and exclaimed: "Doggie!":D

Hmmm...wonder if THIS is their "October Surprise"?:eyes:

B-)

12. I just watched it too...
the way they were describing it on NPR, it sounded like a snarling wolf lunged at the screen at the end, teeth bared. Reality - it looks like the wolves are getting up to get a doggy treat. And the voice-over sounds funky.

Maybe it will actually make some people scared, but overall I thought it was so-so. Let's just say, the anti-Bush ads that feature soldiers from Iraq or families who have lost someone in Iraq are 1000x more moving than evil doggies.

26. I once owned a most noble wolf hybrid...used to jump on folks and lick em
I fear an abused pit bull or a Rottweiler more than a wolf. They are noble creatures, NOT good metaphors for terrorists who kidnap a C.A.R.E. lady, threatening to behead her.

My dog had a bit of husky in him but he looked just like a wild wolf.
He had a bad habit of jumping on people, licking them on the face. He scared folks at first, but he loved people and soon had folks forgetting he was mostly "wild".

Dudley - do what's right :snicker: couldn't resist - send this to Kerry, seriously. It is absolutely perfect!

19. I thought it was a Sierra Club ad
"all I thought was how beautiful those wolves are"

If there's been a different reaction to it than that, I haven't heard of it yet. Rove is really losing his touch. Wolves are probably the most beloved symbol of American wildlife there is.

He must have been brushing up on Carl Jung, and he's attempting to conjure up some archetypal image to inspire primal fear. He's probably scared of dogs.

30. My take on this whole wolf thing.
It was not meant for you, silly! ;) The bush base scares easily. They have a knee-jerk reaction that associates things they cannot control (such as wild animals) as "bad, evil" things.

36. Blair Witch Project meets Animal Planet
Seriously, I was expecting that crocodile hunter guy to come out of there and hold out a baby for them.

"I'm a trained professional, don't try this at home, mates."

Actually I thought the wolves were sort of cute, especially at the end when one of the wolves jumped over the other wolf.

This may have tested well in a setting devoid of distractions but I doubt the atmospherics will win over anyone but the truly paranoid and they're probably voting for Bush already.

Of course I could be wrong. This may get to the security moms who don't watch the Discovery channel.
