My LTTE re: wolves (chrstians might wanna check this out)
I'm a catholic, a sunday school teacher for 12 years, and that wolves ad really made me mad. here's my LTTE, any comments?

In it's final act of desparation, the failed Bush administration has lowered itself to airing scary images of wolves in a forest. Is this a blatant attempt to scare small children, or perhaps a chance to speak in "code" to Christians?

I can't make Kerry's response ad, but the image I would chose is the wolf in sheep's clothing, which is how Bush has always struck me. His talk over the past four years has cleverly disguised his opposite-direction walk. His pledge to be a "uniter" has left us more divided than ever. He brags of "clear skies" and "healthy forests" but if you read the fine print, he's increasing pollution and cutting down trees. He talks in vague terms about banning abortion, but abortions have actually RISEN over the past four years.

Most despicable perhaps is his use of the word "freedom" as an excuse for bombing innocents in Iraq. At the same time he is undermining our freedoms here in the US. And whether the pitiful people of Iraq will ever be truly free is highly in doubt.

Perhaps the term "compassionate conservative" says it all. Christians should have cracked that code four years ago: it means "a wolf in sheep's clothing".

3. I'm no Christian, but
Good letter....

It would make it a little more powerful if you actually included in the LTTE that you have taught Sunday school for 12 years. If you do not say that in your letter, it may come across to some Christians as lecturing them on their faith. By saying you've taught Sunday school for more than a decade makes you 'one of them'...

4. St. Francis talked to a killer wolf
and brought it to town where it was treated as a pet

and where it died peacefully.

i like what you say here. since you ask for feedback my thoughts are these:

in the second sentence, instead of the small children, i may replace that sentence with something like,
"what is this ad trying to convey? it only seems to be another thinly veiled attempt at fear, not unlike the consistent terror alerts (recently, one was based on 4 yo information, which the administration admitted)

and in the 3rd paragraph (most despicable...) i would only add
"most despicable is his use of God and the word "freedom" as an excuse......
It has been proven by many reputable sources that Iraq was in no way connected to 9/11.

and a minor grammatical in first sentence. "in its final act of..."
instead of it's
(no apostrophe)

you did great francine, and again i appreciate your concise letter of conviction! hope what i wrote made sense

6. Is the expression "wolf in sheep's clothing" from the bible?
OK, I have to admit I don't know if that is biblical, or the expression is just one of lexicon.

I know in the old testament one of joshua's brother's puts a sheep skin over himself to imitate Joshua (who was hairy) when meeting his blind father.

Uhh, any help?
