1. check minnesota forum...many accounts there.
DU was well-represented....estimates of crowd 35,000 to 40,000.
WILDLY enthusiastic!
Kerry to me seemed to be a little fatigued...but can you blame him?
anyway, it was inspiring.
got a thumbs up from The Man as he left the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome....wondered if Hubert's spirit and maybe Paul's were among us....

9. Did Gore get anything like this kind of reception in 2000?
Holy crap, it looks like a rock concert.

I agree, our candidate looks tired. And our candidate also needs a shave. He has a little bit of Flintstone action going on there.

14. A little Flintstone action is OK
Makes our guy look rugged and it goes with the jacket. Rugged is good. Voters like Rugged.

10. Notice how pictures of Bush and Cheney
are always close shots, from the perspective of the crowd looking toward the candidates. The pictures include the "audience" behind the candidate, but that's about it. Wonder why they never take shots looking out on the crowd?

Ding ding ding! I just figured something out. Bush/Cheney have a row of pod-people behind them, so there will always be someone in the pictures besides their two ugly mugs.

11. That top picture doesn't even show one third of the crowd!!!
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 04:54 AM by Thegonagle
I was there. It was a wonderful experience, and I myself was in awe of the size of the crowd.

Walter Mondale and Max Cleland came out to introduce Kerry. Mondale was no surprise to me because he lives in Minneapolis, but it was a treat to see Max Cleland. When Cleland spoke of Paul Wellstone, incredible cheers erupted. (We still love Wellstone in Minnesota because we know he was the real deal--genuine, sincere, and never wavering in his convictions.)

John Kerry did seem a little tired, but it was good to see him speak nonetheless.

He's going to win, and I'm going to be able to say "I've seen the President speak in person." That's pretty cool.
