Why Hasn't MTV Interviewed President Bush?
http://www.mtv.com/chooseorlose/headlines/news.jhtml?id=1490769

Throughout MTV's coverage of the 2004 presidential election, many of you have been contacting us about providing equal coverage to both major presidential candidates — Senator John Kerry and President George W. Bush. Some of you write that you've enjoyed our programs with Senator Kerry, but you ask why MTV hasn't interviewed President Bush.

We agree with you that we can best serve our audience by presenting both candidates and campaigns in equal measure. But while Senator Kerry has now sat for two interviews with MTV, President Bush has yet to agree to a single appearance. MTV has been pursuing an interview with the president all year and would welcome him on our network at any time. To date, the Bush campaign has told us that it hasn't been able to schedule an MTV appearance.

We believe it's critical for young people to hear from both leading candidates. Major issues — like fighting the war in Iraq, getting a job or paying for college — disproportionately affect young people and are at stake in this election. We think you have a right to hear directly from both candidates about how their presidencies would affect your lives.

If you'd like to encourage the president to address your issues by appearing on MTV, please send an e-mail to President Bush at [email protected].

Thank you for being part of Choose or Lose's 20 Million Loud campaign and helping us to achieve our goal of getting 20 million 18- to 30-year-olds to vote in the 2004 election. If you are not yet registered to vote, please visit the Choose or Lose section of MTV.com and register.

4. I sincerely hope that MTV doesn't represent our youth.
I sincerely hope that MTV doesn't represent our youth. I was disappointed that Kerry gave that degenerate mode of entertainment whatever iota of credibility it gained from interviewing him. MTV is entertainment requiring no thought and shouldn't be surprised that it is unworthy of the attention of the highest office in the world.

5. DO NOT send an email to Bush asking him to appear on MTV
Just about every President and Presidential Candidate has appeared on MTV in recent times. If Bush does not appear on MTV, think how that will make him look.
