MSNBC: Bush had $37 million for final push
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6289409/

President Bush burned through more than half of his $75 million government grant to cover general-election campaign costs in September, leaving him with just under $37 million left for the final month before the Nov. 2 election.

The Republican spent about $44 million in September and had $455,000 in bills to pay as October began, a monthly campaign finance report he filed Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission shows

Has anyone seen this? Maybe I'm making too much of this, but this seems to be a really troubling sign for Shrub.

6. 200 million dollars
And all he has left is the tired, old "Kerry's a liberal" line.

Sad.

9. He had to spend this much running as an incumbent
a War President and someone who is suppose to be a popular President and still it's a tie? LOL!

4. Explains why
He is "gaming" the system - Calling his stump speech a "major policy address" to get it on the tube for free, sending assorted cabinet members to speak on his behalf (Rice for example), without the campaign having to cough up, etc.

5. I remember that the news media talking heads were snickering at the Dems
because mighty, mighty Bush had raised all this money and it was an ENORMOUS amount and how could the Dems possibly compete?

Anyone else remember that spin from about 18 months ago?

10. Well I guess that reflects well on bush*s fiscally responsible tendencies
right? Oh, my mistake, that's fucking impossible, it's KERRY that has shown he can handle funds.

13. Yep. I was one of the ones who said, "Wait, you'll see....the
money will come pouring in after the nomination." Of course, I didn't think we'd get as much as Bush, but I thought Kerry would get a lot. And he ended up getting as much, or close to as much! Amazing!

8. the sad part is
he's a 'war president' with a mid 40's approval rating who's tied with his challenger and all the money he's spent went to waste.

11. Whenver his ads say "Kerry and liberals in Congress"
it means he can cooridinate almost unlimited amounts of money with the RNC.
