...back in his early days, as in "Hey, Jimbo, lit any good bongs lately?"

So Bush doesn't have to practice the three-syllable word "litany" over and over...

Realizing this, Karl simply told him to use the phrase "lit any...?" in front of "...of complaints" to make him sound more "Presidential."

Never mind that he doesn't know what it means...
