I sure hope this place isn't busy with posts on election day because what we all should be doing is making every effort to help GOTV efforts in our states that day. For my part I will vote early (NJ does not have pre-election day voting) and then drive voters to the polls in the morning. After that I will help pick up the lists from the polls of Dem voters who have not voted yet (as of about 5-6 pm) and then keep hammering them by phone to get out to vote.

I've done it many times before - you call them and let them know that you know they haven't voted yet, impress on them that we are counting on their support urge them to get moving!

Then on to local Dem headquarters where the runners will be coming in with the results from local polling districts and the results posted on a tally board. There is nothing like it when you have a winner, believe me!

Wherever you are, get involved! Call your local Dem officials to find out how you can help. Make phone calls for them pre-election day and on election day itself. GOTV will make the difference in this election.

1. One Exception - Reporting Voting Irregulaties

As part of being an observer, we will report issues thru official channels. We should also report any publicly known issues of voting problems.

2. I was about to say that
Yeah, I think we need to be able to catalogue as many voting irregularities as possible.

3. Yes, that is another way to help
I am also a lawyer and am on a list compiled by the Democratic County Chairman to go to court for voters who are challenged at the polls. Whatever else I am doing I will be on call to appear in court in about 15 minutes if needed.

The point is, we can get it done if enough people are ready to get their hands into the work.

6. I'd say
there should be NO NEGATIVE posts early in the day, because such things can do a bad job for morale.

Otherwise, I think it's important to have a discussion, especially as others said, regarding voter irregularities. If something screwy is going on, it's important to get the word out - and get the word out QUICK!

7. Unfortunately
My son's school has decided to hold the parent teacher conferences and school tour on Nov 2nd. I have TONS of stuff to do that day to help JK, but I have to attend all of that, too, so I wont have any time to post that day at all.

8. I agree, Everyone should be out there working on GOTV
Get Out The Vote:
You have all worked so hard here to keep the truth going, November 2 will be like the final seconds in a tied football game. It will require the entire team to get the game one. No one should have time to sit on the internet and create posts.
This thing is about more that John Kerry, it about the future of this country, it about yours and my future.

9. I'll be working on the Tari Renner congressional race.
The campaign asked me to get vote totals for them on election day and to work the weekend prior to the election to GOTV. I have to help. Renner could be another Democratic seat in the House! I was going to drive people to the polls until they asked me to help them. So, I will not be on DU until later in the evening. GO, Renner! Go, Kerry!

10. Skinner & Elad Need Vacations...
That might be something all us DU'ers can do after election day. These guys and the many moderators have done an incredible job in keeping this place as a refuge of sanity for the insane.

I'd say we start up a fund to send these guys on a nice one weeks of fun and debauchery...or whatever

13. I'm a poll watcher, so the only posting I will do will be
before the day begins, and when my shift ends.

I'm will be so hyped up and nervous with anticipation I will have to communicate with like minded some how. I am surrounded by repubs so DU is my sanctuary.
