Crossfire is passe...
There was a time when they were unique in their format of having two opposing viewpoints scream at each other. Now it is as common as dirt to see it on all the cable networks. Crossfire is no longer a unique commodity. If people want to see others scream at each other, all they have to do is turn on FOX, MSNBC, or other shows on CNN. Crossfire is surviving on it name and reputation only. They have nothing to offer the viewing public.

2. Crossfire will always be #1 for me
for opposing view points, I just don't see that anywhere else. All I see is RNC whoring.

9. watch Countdown & The Daily Show for balance
I've not been able to watch a full episode of Crossfire in years. I used to try but I never turn it on anymore.

10. For a time, it was the ONLY show where you could hear
Bush called a failure, coward, etc. Begala and Carville were breaths of fresh air, and I would NOT miss them. But then... they changed the time and cut it in half. It's not the same show anymore, so I can't agree with your "Crossfire will always be #1 for me". I miss the old show...

4. Crossfire has become a parody of itself. Totally worthless.
If not actually harmful

7. Crossfire was good as an hour-long issues show
When they didn't do this stupid "Rapid Fire" crap and all the contrived head-to-head combat. When they got relegated to the horrendous 4:30 pm time slot to help make sure their voices weren't actually heard, I think it sucked any pretentions out of them that anyone actually cared what they said. They were now doing their show to at-home moms or part-time workers or bloggers, and they no longer cared about making it seem "real."

IMHO.

It used to be good. Now it is just a joke. Jon Stewart for President.

11. Crossfire Has Real LIberals As Regulars....No One Else Does...
this side of Air America...but the republicans are no longer arguing seriously, they are just playing games....Tucker screams and rants, "Yes, I know, Bush is evil..." whenever he is losing an argument on the facts, which is most of the time and Novak, Douchebag For Liberty, just lectures and pontificates..."James, you should be ashamed of yourself..." "Paul you have got to stop this Bush bashing...it just isn't working..."

It's is the right's failure to engage on the issues which has taken the program downhill, not the left...

I am certainly disappointed in the direction the show has been going, but I still enjoy seeing real liberals take real liberal positions. Something you just don't see anywhere else except on Air America.

13. That's the only positive point, I agree.
But if one side is actually debating the facts, and the other side is doing nothing but trying to shout down, talk over, and ridicule, the entertainment value as well as the informative value begins to approach zero.

15. Exactly
Whenever the liberal side has a good point to make, the talking head on the right just talks over them so no one can understand what is being said.

12. Way back when, when they used to sit together at that tall desk
in the darkened studio, they actually used to let people make their points, and there seemed to be some effort to keep it from becoming a shoutfest and interrupt-fest. I think Stewart's comparison to pro wrestling is right on.

14. Tiresome now...
that angry tirade was fine in a climate
of peace and prosperity of Clinton years,
even during the rightwingnuts efforts
to impeach the President. Now in a climate
of so much anger and divisiveness...it's
just more of the same.

16. Let me get this straight. You want to take Carville and Begala off the air?
The ONLY voices of true Democratic strategists on cable every day?

And you say we can watch Alan Colmes (of Hannity and Colmes) on Fox instead?

CNN would be glad to accomodate you. They'd just extend Judy or Wolf for half an hour. Why don't you start an email campaign?

Republicans already have seen to it that Crossfire gets half the time and goes on hours before the prime time slot it used to have. Freepers would be glad to silence Carville.

Please be careful what you wish for.
