kerry not exciting his base....hummmm
here is the scoop. I am a smoker and a teacher. I have to leave and drive around the block to smoke a cig during lunch. Rush was on excited that "kerry had not excited his base"

Going home after school, hannity said the same thing and then started attacking Teresa H. Kerry and called her all kinds of names and said her taxes were probably phony and contained all kinds of hidden embarrasing things.

folks they are struggling

3. Would be so nice if
the power went out on those networks for about a week.

Let's see: we have air pollution, noise pollution...how about MEDIA POLLUTION??? :D

Hell, those networks border on, if not cross the line on, HATE CRIMES: speech that leads to others being harmed.

9. Kerry shut down a huge banking network that funded al Qaeda
back in the 1990s. That's another Rove lie that twists the truth 180 degrees. We probably would have had previous attacks (or attempts) prior to 9/11 if not for what Kerry did when he shut down BCCI.

23. Yep, Kerry's so soft on terrorism
He's done more to fight terrorism in the last ten years then this administration has done in the last four years. In fact, they've made it worse.

No matter what they say, people have heard Kerry speak truth. Hopefully they will remember come November.

In fact every Democrat I know is excited. Where do these idiots get this stuff? I think that the Democratic turnout on Nov 2nd is going to slap Rush down a couple of notches.

6. No we are just twiddling our thumbs ho hum ho hum
Kerry who?

They are talking out of their asses. It is all they've got. I've never seen people so THRILLED to vote in my life. My husband has pretty much always voted, but he said to me, "It felt SO good to lodge my teeny tiny voice in protest against the way things are and say I want it changed."

Yeah, but that's how I've always been about voting. I'm a fanatic. I'm sorry it took four years of this monster from the deep to reach out and show some that voting is what Democracy is all about.

8. I can only speak for myself
But I can tell you that for the first time in my life (and I'm 40), I've:

canvassed houses (in the rain)
phonebanked
emailed and called news stations
written LTTEs
registered voters
researched even the "nonpartisan" local candidates to vote smarter
bumperstickered my car
lawnsigned my yard
gone to protests
gone to rallies
donated to a candidate
donated to a party
recorded political speeches and mailed them to undecided family members

I believe this is all due to boredom. Nothing to do with Kerry exciting his base. No sirree.

10. I've done a bunch of those things for the first time in my life too!
I'm 44, and I'm more excited and motivated than I have ever been about an election (and that includes a lot of elections in which I was highly motivated to vote against Jesse Helms).

For the first time in my life I admire a politician - John F. Kerry. He had me at hamster.

11. You would think Bush would have us excited enough. Kerry's
not exciting as the original JFK, or Dean, or Kucinich. But I do like the guy and have hated bush so much for so long, that I don't care if Kerry isn't Mr. Excitement.

12. Bush has excited Kerry's base
Kerry doesn't need to excite us -- Bush has done all the work by means of his terrible foreign and domestic policy. He has done more damage to this country and the rest of the world than any US president has done in recent memory.

We have been excited in our energy to remove Bush from office.

25. Neither have I, ever
Not quite busting tail, but I'm doing way more than I ever have.

Just came from a 4 hour stint at a phone bank. It was cool to see the phone all pretty much in use even on a Monday afternoon and evening.

I wasn't excited at the beginning of summer. I am now. I don't think we could have picked anyone better for the job.

16. Well, in my opinion
If the 'Approved' Neo-Con BS outlets are reporting to THE BASE that the opposition is not excited, I see absolutely no reason to expend our energies at this time in an attempt to enlighten them.

Let them continue to reside in their self-imposed 'Dark Ages' for the next two weeks. They shall be bathed in the light of the Second Rennaisance soon enough. Allow them to wallow in their cesspool of morbidity for a few more days...

20. This Member of His Base
doesn't have to be excited to cast an intelligent vote. In fact, this member thinks that anybody who votes for a politician because he excites them needs to think twice before casting the vote. Excitment is not a valid base for a vote for President.

21. This morning I heard one guy saying that Kerry was lying
about the Republicans because he's behind, and just now I caught Hannity saying the same thing tonight.

I never watched Hannity before. I've caught him twice now in a week. I see now why y'all are hoping he'll be swept out with the trash of this administration. Two short viewings, and already I can't stand to see his face.

But yeah, you have to love the coordinated attacks of the conservative pundits. Either we're not excited, or the Democrats are lying because we're losing, the "they will say anything" phrase they stole from the Kerry campaign, the Mary Cheney "how dare they call her a faggot" issue.

As the Dem on Hannity said, you can't talk about the issues so you are trying to distract the voters with calling the Dems liars.

Oh, just wait till November, my pretties. Then you will find out how excited we're not. Heh..heh...heh...

27. Yeah- this is my favorite angle of the argument:
"Democrats don't like Kerry-- as much as they despise Bush"..

Well, what the fuck does that say about your man, then? (For the record, I don't 'despise' Bush the man- I think politics have gotten too personal- I just want him to retire, and soon, and take his gaggle of oil cronies and fundamentalist fucktards with him) But there's a lot of things that don't come close to the level of contempt and sheer disgust I have for the agenda, ideology and performance of this inept, dangerous, and criminally corrupt administration. To say that because the opposition really, really doesn't like your guy-- that means that they're not committed to electing someone else, what the hell kind of argument is that? It's like saying, well, sure I like FDR-- but I really hate Hitler. Sure, I like the Flu Vaccine... but I really hate terminal cancer.

I hear ya, if this is the best they can do, it smells like desperation. And I can't imagine it's convincing a whole lot of these mythological undecided voter types.

28. I couldn't be more excited.
I didn't know Kerry that well until the debates. After seeing them, and reading more about him, I can honestly say that I've never felt as inspired by a Democratic presidential candidate as I am by John Kerry.

Kerry's taken on the hardest struggles time and time again, risking his life and honor for the values he believes in. The Big Dog is a very smart, articulate man, but he ain't no John Kerry.

I can't wait til JK's in office.
