White House website being scrubbed!!!
http://www.bradblog.com/archives/00000776.htm

Audio and video of the press conference in which Bush said he was "not that concerned" about Osama bin Laden have been removed. The transcript is still there, according to this blog, but don't expect that to stay on the website for long, either.

And this follows the removal of the page listing the coalition members (see http://www.bradblog.com/archives/00000772.htm for details).

1. Too bad....the media have it, they have played it, and if we let the
proper people know that BushCo whores are trying to make like it never happened, it will be played more than ever.
Let's get busy, people - make our voices heard to those who can ensure that *'s flop will CONTINUE to be heard!

2. The scary thing is that they didn't think it should have been removed...
before they were called on it...they thought it was just fine that * didn't give a shit if we caught him.

comes.

Good! We should get a day of news from the removal, right?
Allege 'dirty tricks' and force the networks to revisit to controversy.

8. Atrios still has the video clip...I just watched it.
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/atrios/notconcerned.wmv

In the URL you provided (http://www.bradblog.com/archives/00000776.htm), look for the paragraph:

"Why they would try and remove such public information is beyond me, since the footage is widely available elsewhere. Atrios, for example, has the video clip in question right here, and the Press Conference was covered by all the networks. I can only assume they're hoping to make this information less available however they can? Perhaps they're getting sick of all the homegrown Anti-Bush Videos out there, and are now using the White House website (illegally, I would think) to eke out whatever partisan political advantage they can?"

...and click on the words "right here"...they link directly to the clip (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/atrios/notconcerned.wmv).

16. You can no longer reach that list of coalition members from their
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 06:11 PM by highplainsdem
section on Iraq, though. As explained at http://www.bradblog.com/archives/00000772.htm , they first got rid of the page that the "Who Are the Coalition Members?" link went to, and then removed the link entirely.

And now the entire section about the coalition is no longer accessible from the main page, the index page, for their "Renewal in Iraq" section, at http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/iraq/index.html .

The old version used to have a list of four "archived features":

The Coalition
100 Days of Progress in Iraq
Liberation Update
Voices of Freedom

The new version also has a list of four archived features, but notice the difference:

100 Days of Progress in Iraq
Liberation Update
Voices of Freedom
Iraq Fact of the Day

The section on the coalition has been replaced by the "Iraq Fact of the Day."

15. Take a look at the list of 'keywords' that they block search engines......
.....from archiving! :scared:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/robots.txt

For those that don't know, the 'robots.txt' file is a plain text file that a webmaster uses to tell search engines like Google and Dogpile to 'ignore' the contents of folders and pages based on file or folder names.

None of the pages on that list will show up in a search or find it's way to an archive unless it's done by someone deliberately.

I wonder if a FOIA request for a digital copy of all Whitehouse website archives is in order?

The Whitehouse and the website belong to us!

17. Time for a screen capture!
I sent the website page to the Kerry campaign and the media in early-mid September, I hope someone captured the content. Though, Bush can't escape the reality that it's been made into a commercial by the Kerry camp and the DNC already. ;)

18. a problem with priorities
Why are they deleting info about the coalition and policy statements about bin laden, but leaving comments by the Vice President's wife discussing Kerry's haircut and manicure?

I swear, Mrs. Cheney makes the Bush twins look deep.
