Zogy Puts Bush at a 4 Point Lead???
What in livin' hell is going on. I just heard this on MSNBC. I know yesterday CNN had Zogby's rolling 3 day poll which concluded before the debate with Bush breaking the 45-45 tie and being one up. Are you going to tell me that that douche bag impressed the people Wednesday night?? MSNBC also read a new ABC poll which has them tied (isn't this part of Wall Street Journal?). Anyway didn't ABC have Bush a fair amount ahead before? I do know that the instant after debate Gallup that had Kerry winning the debate by a lot also asked the 500 (shortened sample) who they would vote for and it was 50-47 Kerry and Gallup oversamples republicans. Anyway, what the hell is happening in the Zogby poll and now I really want to know where the hell we stand in these battleground states. What a way to wake up in the morning......gees.

5. It was just on MSNBC---that got my attention and when I posted and
pushed the botton, another person had posted at the same time. Knock off the idiot conspiracy theory routine. And did you read the whole post where I put up other numbers??? I'd like to know what people think of the ABC poll, etc.

4. One thing about this poll is you have to sign up to participate
I participate in the Zogby poll. It's not a random phone poll. It's entirely possible that the Repugs have freeped the poll by having a whole bunch of people sign up. That would influence the results of the poll. We've seen that with the Gallup poll. What matters is how many people get out and vote. I'm voting tomorrow. And it won't be for Shrub.

7. I was wondering about that----in fact, I just could not for the life
of me figure out this Zogby polling routine. Does he also have phone polls???--because a sign-up/on-line poll is a joke. I mean it is a total joke. So what gives when Zogby releases his numbers. Are they a phone poll or this idiot on line thing. My god an 8 year old could find a way to bust a poll like that!!!

10. According to their website they use phone polls
But they don't mention how they factor in the internet based polls into their figures.

8. just relax
new democratic voter registration is up

zogby isn't infalliable either

if you look at the numbers on zogby, the gain for bush 1 point came from Kerry and 1 point came from the undecided

I am doubtful of the poll since bush still has an unfavorable job performance rating, and the poll also shows that they would like to see someone new by 49% someone new to 47% while 4% remain undecided

The top issues are jobs, war in Iraq, and terrorism, and this doesn't match either since things have changed in a very negative way toward bush on all three

Gas prices are through the roof, and this will start to affect people big time if it isn't controlled

9. Due to lack of reading------What about the ABC Poll I mentioned??
They read that as a new poll right after this one. Wasn't Kerry like quite a few behind Bush before this poll from ABC?? He's now tied. And like I said, the Gallup Poll done right after the debate I found out later had Kerry 50 and Bush 47. What other polls have come out since Wed. night.

14. The only poll that matters is Nov 2
There is no way in hell Bush has opened up a lead as Zogby shows. Millions of young Americans cannot be polled due to the fact they use cell phones as their primary form of communication and cannot be polled by any source.

GOTV is the BEST and FOREMOST way to ensure a Kerry victory on Nov 2. There isn't a moment to spare. Volunteer to drive people to the polls as I have done and will do all day long on election day!!

Reuters Poll: Bush Opens Four-Point Lead on Kerry

2 hours, 40 minutes ago Politics - Reuters

By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) opened a four-point lead on Democratic Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) the day after the final debate between the White House rivals, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Friday.

Bush led Kerry 48-44 percent in the latest three-day tracking poll, which included one night of polling done after Wednesday's debate in Tempe, Arizona. Bush led Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts, by only one point, 46-45 percent, the previous day.

An improvement in Bush's showing among undecideds and a strong response from his base Republican supporters helped fuel the president's rise.

"The good news for the president is that he has improved his performance among the small group of undecideds," said pollster John Zogby, who found 6 percent of likely voters are undecided. "Nearly a quarter now say that he deserves to be re-elected, up from 18 percent in our last poll."

18. these rolling tracks
can be put out of whack with one weird day. 300 Calls a day means they can get a weird sample over the course of that day, which screws up the numbers.

that there is one weird day in the sample. That happens all the time with rolling tracks.

22. Reminder: Village Voice exposed Zogby in 2000 for favoring W
That happened in October, hence his very touted "correct" polling following.
he favored Dean in the primaries - which made him - ironically trustworthy to many here. Now, he is back in the fold - expect him to shill for W till election day.
