Has anyone else noticed this in the media?
I have noted several times lately that as the RW talking heads start to spout their lies (example: Ralph Reed saying that more jobs have been created than lost or that the middle classes got the lion's share of the tax cuts) reporters... even ones that I had previously thought pretty biased to the right.... HAVE CALLED THEM ON IT. Instead of letting them go on and on, they state facts to the opposite.
NOW OF COURSE>>> when this happens, the RWTH just looks like someone hit the "restart" button and keeps spouting the same shit... and their lies and denials are getting more and more feverish by the minute.

Have any of you noticed this?

2. Sort of.
I've noticed that the networks have gotten much better about pointing it out when Dubya or Cheney told a blatant whopper in the debates. I wonder if maybe they're just getting really, really tired of hearing the lies. One can hope.

12. Jansing is one of the best interviewers on television
She likes to call GOP operatives out on their lies. I've seen her do it numerous times.

Somebody has to.

5. Side effect of the debates
Kerry and Edwards showed what kind of liars */Cheney are to the American public.

Maybe this helped the media find their spines again and ask the kind of questions that journalists are supposed to ask.

If this trend holds for three weeks, * is history. The truth will set us free!

6. I think conventional news organizations now realize ...
the extent to which their sloppiness has resulted in loss of credibility and marginalization. People trust Jon Stewart's version of the news more than theirs. They must work hard to earn back the respect they once had.

Plus, they understand that we are about to lose "America" as we once knew it. Now is the time to embrace journalistic integrity because -- if they do not -- that door may be forever closed by the Fourth Reich.

7. Win or lose
Shrub is ruining them and making an unprofitable joke of their occupation. As with the nation, had Bushco made the slightest effort to respect their well wishers, give them a modicum of truth instead of forcing this grabage down their throats, his campaign strategy would not be in such open disarray.

10. The bean-counters have determined
that, shock and surprise, there are enough of us out there to be a significant bloc of advertising revenue for them. I'd love to think it had to do with ethics or integrity, but I'm afraid I don't believe it for a second. They've probably done focus groups and interal polling and determined that they're losing their grasp on the left end of the political spectrum because we're not watching and not buying from their advertisers anymore out of disgust. If they play the middle like they would if they were real journalists, they can get to us, too. Not that it matters to me very much, if the ends are good. I don't care if it's for the money -- if it means they're starting to play even remotely fair, it's good for 'our side.'
