How come the media is not ALL OVER this Bin Laden gaffe ?
Is it possible they don't even know? That would blow my mind. It's Bushs' biggest blunder of the last 3 months. And I haven't seen anybody jump on it yet. What is their problem ?

1. Because they have a vested
interest in Bush winning. The battle is not against Bush to win on November 2nd, it is against the media. They are the REAL opposition that we must overcome.

9. For those who do not know yet what this is all about:

KERRY: Yes. When the president had an opportunity to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, he took his focus off of them, outsourced the job to Afghan warlords, and Osama bin Laden escaped.
Six months after he said Osama bin Laden must be caught dead or alive, this president was asked, "Where is Osama bin Laden?" He said, "I don't know. I don't really think about him very much. I'm not that concerned."

We need a president who stays deadly focused on the real war on terror.

SCHIEFFER: Mr. President?

BUSH: Gosh, I just don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. It's kind of one of those exaggerations.

4. they are - at least CNN Headline News
They have a segment on CNN Headline News that's been running over and over, where they show the tape in 2002 where Bush says he's not concerned about Osama.

I think the story will get bigger tommorow, and hopefully our talking heads will do an effective job.

6. I haven't seen it yet.
I can't believe it's not the first thing out of everybody's mouth. How can they not rivet him to the wall with denying he wasn't concerned about the guy who caused the terror?? It should be endless on every show.

I'm actually convinced a lot of people didn't realize the humongous blunder.

5. Let's see if it comes out during the day.

I personally e-mailed a link to his comments on the White House site, three brief quotes, and a short paragraph explaining it all to dozens of media people.

With luck, many will run this story.

We need to get media attention on his other lies, too. I don't think I imagined that he proposed amnesty for illegal aliens at one time and now says he didn't. I am very skeptical about his claims of increased border security and increases in veterans' benefits, too.

7. CNN nailed him for it, repeatedly
I turned from CSPAN to CNN right after the debate to see the spin, and within minutes they were showing the clip of Bush saying he wasn't worried about bin Laden. As well, I've seen it run a few times on Headline News.

They're on it, no worries. It's such an obvious lie they HAD to call him on it.
