I got a call last night from a Democratic party worker and she
asked me to give $167 to pay for a bus ticket back to Crawford. Even though I have given quite a bit of money already, I did so. I can't really afford it, but I can't afford not to either. Anyone else?

8. I don't like cheap gimmicks and
I believe it is one of them. I have given to Kerry and MoveOn, but I expect them to be level with me. Tell me it's for ads in Florida and I'll agree. Even though I understand it's a symbolic request, I still think it's too cheap. P.S. You generosity to our cause is laudable. :toast:

9. It was not a gimmick to get me to donate, it was just a joke she
made when asking how much I would donate.

Please donate in the amount of a bus ticket for a one-way trip from Washington DC to Crawford TX. I was hit up for (and donated) $102, though I forget what the symbolism of the amount was.

7. I agree. We need to be very careful.
This is a prime time for anyone calling pretending to be from either party just so they can get money out of people.

10. LOL! Well if it were a scam, Kerry is going to get the money as a result.

And what would be too funny if on Jan 19, the Dems handed Bushco a Greyhound ticket to Crawford. I bet that would make the news! (but its kinda mean tho... to kick a man when he's down)

12. Never trust anybody over the phone!
have them send you stuff in the mail, documenting who they are and providing contact information you can check carefully.
