Did anyone else notice this Brian Williams line post-debate...
I think it was Brian Williams. It was an NBC correspondent that Tom Brokaw went to and asked about the spin/truth factor of the two candidates. He pointed out a few things that bush was wrong and not factual about.

Then he mentions how Kerry was less than truthful as well. They show the clip of him saying that Bush underfunded no child left behind. Then Williams comes on and says (and I'm paraphrasing) that this was not factually accurate because President Bush funded no child left behind, just not to the levels it required for most of it's programs.

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

My wife and I just looked at each other and said "Isn't that the goddamned definition of underfunded?!?!?!"

4. i noticed that too
mine was dumb shit, then it is underfunded asshole

it is like them saying Kerry giving the wrong job numbers. not 1.6 million loss, that is just employment numbers, doesn't include the govt numbers. well, i don't think they ever included govt, but even so it doesn't make it factually wrong

they did that with gore. would give bush's 11 lies and then throw in 3 exaggerations that were the silliest of gore. what promotes the all politicians lie shit. that way there is no differentiating between bush and Kerry. bush's outrageous, everything out of his mouth is a lie shit

5. Same shit on CNN a little while ago

Some guy named Marlby(?) reported Kerry's remarks that Bush didn't fund NCLB as not truthful. And made a big deal about it being 'untruthful'. Then when the anchor calls him on it he goes on to explain that Bush funded it but that he funded 28 Bil less than Congress appropriated.

If the anchor hadn't called him on this then the guy basically would have gotten away with calling Kerry a liar. All because Kerry said fund instead of fully fund.

6. Williams Is A First Rate Whore
He's a bushbot...Nascar dad, Clinton hater and so on.

No surprise he put that spin on this. Remember, he was the one at the DNC who was talking over Sharpton as if what he had to report was far more important that what Al had to say.

This guy is Brokaw's heir...and another reason to avoid NBC News.

7. Yes, I noticed it and repressed it - obviously looking to be "Fair" to GWB
by showing where Kerry exaggerated. It was REALLY ANNOYING.

On the other hand, maybe Brian is REALLY THAT DUMB.

8. This is Brokaw's replacement in waiting .
He is spineless and wrestles with the English language and loses as often as W does . As bad as things are in the wonderful world of broadcast news they are slated to get much worse . Thank God and Gore for the internets .

9. FactCheck.org fell into the same rut re: No Child Left a Dime
Basically they said that it's not funded enough, but the "enough" is probably not as much as the $28 billion that Kerry mentioned.

11. More media lies
They're shameless- the Brian William's of the world will say anything that they are told to say. And the sheeple will believe most anything that they are told to. Critical thinking is on the wanr in America.

12. so, what were Kerry's EXACT words: unfunded, underfunded, or what?
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 05:23 PM by Gabi Hayes
makes a big difference, yes?

I saw that bit, too, and got the impression that Williams was off base, but I dunno if he quoted Kerry word for word

I didn't see the debate; taped it, and will watch it with company for big laffs...I DID turn on the radio and hear his opening answer about stem cell research and immediately started LAUGHING, though

I just can't believe how anybody could listen to those two talking, one after the other, and NOT come away that with the CLEAR response that one of them communicates on the level of a near-mental defective.

It's just mindboggling how STUPID he sounds!

try listening without watching; no wonder the rest of the world can only scratch its collective head in wonder at the credulousness of both our media and half the voting public
