In the past week, 180 minutes of exposure -- him to us and us to him -- has turned the spotlight squarely on the incumbent. He has stoked every kernel of fear that was nestling in the marrow of those 10 or 20 percent of voters who just aren't quite sure he's up to the job. In two settings, their doubt has only intensified.
