Kerry's four magic words tonight to win it all
"George Bush must resign"

snip - It's not about whether the Iraqi invasion was "worth it." Or whether the world is safer without Saddam Hussein.

It's about the inevitable next crisis. About the fact that this administration has taken the world to war on false pretenses.

And that it will never be believed again: It lied to the American people. It lied to Congress. It lied to the global community.

Next time, Bush will not be believed by any of them, no matter what the truth or urgency of the situation. The public, the Congress, the UN have all been burned, and "won't be fooled again."

So in all practical terms, Bush has nullified his ability to act on the world stage.

God, your 4 words would be the exact 4 words that would lose the election. Those swing voters are real you know.

5. I just posted an article for discussion
Why do you think those would lose the election? Seriously - I agree with the article that Bush HAS nullified his ability to act on the world stage. He has nullified his ability to ask anything of Congress.

Why not state the obvious? He has ZERO credibility and that has nothing to do with partisanship - it has to do with FACTS.

12. That's fine
Why take the focus off of Bush's failures and lack of credibility by creating a media storm over a PARTISAN call for resignation?

14. I see your point
But that still does not negate my strong feeling that Bush should be pressured to resign.

HE IS NO LONGER CREDIBLE. But - you know that too.

6. I agree. "George Bush must resign" would LOSE the election for Kerry.
It goes WAY too far, AND tells the people that they should not have the choice. We DO have an election coming up in less than a month, and if the people agree he must go, they'll make it happen.

Sure, I think he should resign. But I'm a regular poster to DU! Your point about swing voters is right on the money.

13. torches and pitchforks
I don't know why this country hasn't hauled his ass out of there by now. That's what *I* think. In fact, I can't really say all that I think lest Officer Mike show up at my door! That kind of thinking doesn't appeal to too many comfy, cozy voters though. Haha!

7. I'm shocked that this is not a mainstream topic
with the repeated revelations of lies from the bushgang

THAT LED US INTO WAR!!

I find it unbelievable that there ahsn't been a bipartisan call for Bush to resign.

The repukes frigging impeached Clinton over a blow job fer pete sake.

This country has gone mad.

16. You would think
"Oops, made a mistake, 1,000 US soldiers dead for no reason at all." It's mind boggling anybody would vote for that. If you asked that question in 2000, 100% of Americans would have said NO WAY. But that is where we are and 3 weeks before an election sure isn't the time for the candidate to jump off that cliff.

9. "Their way doesn't work!"
Clinton had that meme right, and Kerry needs to keep hammering away at it. Nothing they've done has worked, unless you're a member of the richest 0.5% in this country.

19. What I don't think the people are thinking of --
Where is the money going to come from if we do have another REAL imminent threat, and we have to go to war?

Bush has already committed or spent 200 billion for Iraq. And that's money the Americans will never see again. He insisted it had to be a no payback gift!

The deficit is already into oblivion. The number is so huge we can't comprehend it. We owe Japan 70 billion. We owe China 160 billion. We owe over 14 countries that have been loaning us money to run our government. A ONE per cent increase in interest rates, will add another 80 billion dollars to our national debt. Just paying the interest will send us almost into an unparalleled recession.

We are only a few more mistakes away from bankruptcy. What if we insisted we were going to help Taiwan? The Chinese could say to us, if you do we're calling our entire note of 160 billion dollars due and payable right now. It would throw us into the greatest crash since the great depression.

There is no more money left for mistakes. We are already up to our waist in quicksand. Kerry has got to explain that.

As I posted above. I think that might be a good line that resonates.
