What are the rules on recommending threads here?

Are they started elsewhere, get some RECs and are moved to the 9-11 forum?

4. what's funny is , when the occasional one slips by

the censors, there are many recs, it is obviously a popular topic. I don't know where the democracy in Democratic underground is (or the underground for that matter).

At least in ELection reform we can recommend, we do a daily thread on election reform news. Volunteers spend a few hours each day compiling articles. One day we had a real good ERD, and I posted up that is was great and please REC. Skinner dropped by and suggested we might not want to do that everyday, as folks might expect that an ERD with 50+ RECs should be great, and if it wasnt- folks would be let down and then ignore future ERDs.

But it was the first time in a year we had an ERd with that many RECs.

ANd having the Penta video come out last week was news....... It was all over the net. AN important event like that IMHO is worthy of RECs.

ALong with the Movie, Everybodys gotta learn sometime. I think thats an important enough event to warrant front page space.

I understand partially the need to keep 9-11 in the basement, BUT, there are occasional threads that are worthy of front page space. I wonder if Skinner might consider an occasional exception.
