Hamas executes collaborator in first admission they exist
For the first time since it was formed at the end of 1987, Hamas has publicly admitted executing a member suspected of collaborating with Israel. The Iz a-Din al-Kassam brigades executed Hassan Mussalam, 18, and dumped his body in the Seja'ia neighborhood in Gaza.

After the killing the brigades published a broadsheet in which they took responsibility for the execution. They said Musallam had been implicated in the assassination of movement leader Ahmad Yassin, and in the attempted assassination of Dr. Mahmoud A-Zahar, one of the senior Hamas officials in the Gaza Strip.

"As we confront the occupation and settlers we know the enemy cannot harm us without the assistance of collaborators who serve as their eyes, and as a source of information, and who have a hand in the liquidation of the organization's fighters and leadership."

Before the present intifada, a secret arm of the Hamas called "Majd" killed Palestinians it believed to be collaborators with Israel, but the organization did not publicize this.

By contrast, Fatah has executed hundreds of alleged collaborators and dozens more are in PA jails, some under death sentences. A large number of victims were not collaborators, but were killed for a host of other reasons, including personal enmities.

2. Me too, Jimbo! I'm SHOCKED!!!
After all, the execution of collaborators is something that's NEVER EVER EVER happened in past conflicts, right? If anyone were to ever try to tell me that the French executed their collaborators, or that the Stern Gang executed collaborators with the British, I'd be SHOCKED!!! ;)

Violet...

4. Lohamei Herut Yisrael (Lehi)
Today's history lesson;
http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Stern%20Gang

>>Lehi mostly conducted small-scale operations such as assassination of British soldiers and police officers and, on occasion, Jewish "collaborators"<<

IMHO, the attacks by Stern gang which are still shocking 50 years later are bombing of King David hotel & murder of Bernadotte.Having said that,there's probably worse incidents that I've not heard about.

3. Collaboration with the enemy is ALWAYS a capital crime
And sentence is usually carried out so that all know what the crime was.
No surprise.
