Office buildings in Gaza City have come under Israeli rocket attack

A senior figure in the Israeli government has said his country could wipe out the Gaza Strip in response to armed Palestinian groups' attacks on Israeli soldiers and Jewish settlers.

"We could annihilate Beit Hanun and the rest of Gaza in a few hours. We certainly have the power to do so," Ze'ev Boim, Israel's deputy defence minister, told Gali Tzhal, the Israeli army radio.

(The US and the rest of the west shut their eyes and turn their heads. Occupiers get to do whatever they want and it's regarded as a right. The occupied fight back and it's called terrorism. And they will say that 'settlements' are being attacked. I say, when you say 'settlement' think 'stolen land.')

We are all paying for this hypocrisy and our own in one way or another.

This statement does not meet any criteria of threat: it is simply a statement of fact. The Israeli miltary does possess the power to do tremendous damage, and inflict horrible casualties, on the entirity of Gaza, and in short order, should its govenment choose to to order this, and if its soldiery obeys the order.

The reason the "terrorism" charge tends to stick against the various irregular armed Arab Palestinian bodies in this matter is not because they are occupied people fighting back, but because their principal method of action is clearly a crime of war, namely, attacks aimed at killing the greatest possible number of enemy civilians. You may try to blink away from this all you please, but you cannot make it go away, at least not until these war criminals abhure that technique....
