Sharon says Israel plans to respond harshly to violence after Gaza pullout
JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel's response to Palestinian violence after its pullout from the Gaza Strip would be harsher than its present military operations, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Tuesday.

Interviewed on Israel's Channel 10 TV for Israel's independence day, Sharon defended his "unilateral disengagement" plan, including a pullout from the Gaza Strip. Members of his Likud party vote on the plan in a referendum Sunday.

After a pullout, he said, Palestinians could no longer explain violence by saying that Israel was occupying their land, Sharon said, "and Israel's responses would be much harsher."

He refused to give specifics, beyond noting that Israel is already taking stiff measures, an apparent reference to the assassinations of Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin on March 22 and his successor, Abdel Aziz Rantisi, three weeks later.

olso the military isn't leaving Gaza and the people of Gaza are encircled by a wall inside their territory Israel built that they can't tear down. In addition all roads in and out of Gaza are policed. NO airports can be built and Israel is blockading their sea ports. They are completely dependent on Israel for all income since the can't trade with other countries.

2. Israel has become a werewolf
Sharon will continue to torture Palestinians in Gaza by curtailing their economic freedoms.

Just hope the EU can become a counter weight to US influence in the region.

this man of peace.

After a pullout, he said, Palestinians could no longer explain violence by saying that Israel was occupying their land...

I have read about the planned pullout of Gaza, but not a pullout of ALL of the WB!
