FM to France: Send the Foreign Legion to Gaza
"I have no problem in lifting the blockade tomorrow as long as there is a force to inspect everything coming into the Gaza Strip and (prevent) terrorist activity," Lieberman told MPs on Monday.

"Don't send girls with olive branches," Lieberman added Monday, referencing a boatload of French activists who tried to breach Israel's blockade on Gaza.

Israeli officials note that the Kerem Shalom crossing to Gaza is never at full capacity despite all requests for aid to Gaza being met.

French and Western criticism of Israel's arms embargo - predicated on the claim there is a 'humanitarian crisis' in Gaza - is unfounded, the officials say. Bustling Gazan malls and thriving hotels bear this out. The humanitarian problem in Gaza is the wide gap between rich and poor, with the former ignoring the latter.

Great response from Lieberman. Those who are so quick to criticize Israel for its defense of its borders do so as monday morning quarter backs. I doubt that Sarkozy has the will to accept Lieberman's challenge and will merely continue to offer snarky, ill-informed comments.

1. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Arutz Sheva
regarded as the voice of the Israeli settlement movement?

2. It is a timely and informative news source...
Their editorials offer a wealth of interesting and incisive details, such as the following about Barack Obama:-

I'm not talking about your middle name. Any good Christian might have the middle name Hussein (although I can't think of any others). We won't hold that against you. There are worse things than having an Arab name; like for instance being supported by a known Jew-hater, bigot Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, who among other statements has accused the Jews of bringing on the Holocaust through cooperation with Hitler - "They helped him get the Third Reich on the road." But, of course, it would be wrong to hold that against you, because you haven't been rallying for his support (recently).

We can't really blame you for the beliefs of Father Michael Pfleger, who embraces Black Liberation Theology, which claims that Jesus was Black - so the Jews have no claim to Israel and, therefore, the Muslims are the rightful heirs of the Holy Land.

Thankfully, we have several kind and considerate posters who are gracious enough to spam the forum with multiple Arutz Sheva editorials each day.

4. That article is over three years old
Not sure what your point is in trotting it out now.

Plenty of more recent stuff from that RW settler site that would be even more startling than that.

Incidentally, have you ever posted an article from a source that also included op-eds that attacked Obama?

Just wondering.

5. I am not sure what the point of your post is...
"Incidentally, have you ever posted an article from a source that also included op-eds that attacked Obama?"

Almost certainly. I dare say most publications on the political left criticise Obama quite robustly these days. But they would tend to criticise him for his policies, and not the colour of his skin, which is where they probably differ from Arutz Sheva.

By all means, if you consider that there are other op-eds that more suitably reflect the editorial content on Arutz Sheva, feel free to post them.

7. My personal opinion is that this source should not be permitted here
I don't see how posting articles from a proudly and blatantly right-wing site is in keeping with the spirit of DU.

As to the selection of my post that you bolded, my point is that perhaps you (and others) who may use sites that are similarly and consistently anti-Obama/Democrats ought to be thoughtful in those choices as well.

We probably will not agree on what I wrote in the second paragraph, but I would imagine you might agree with the first. In which case, I see no need to post any op-eds of any kind from Arutz Sheva.

8. While I agree with yr first point, I'm not too sure about the second...
...my point is that perhaps you (and others) who may use sites that are similarly and consistently anti-Obama/Democrats ought to be thoughtful in those choices as well.

I think there's a difference between the likes of Arutz Sheva and the use of left-wing sources that don't like Obama too much. While some of them are over the top and even in my current anti-Obama mood*, I take issue at them, there's others that are legitimate criticism of him and the Democrats. I don't see any problems with the latter...

* I'm sitting here listening to jets doing laps over the city, which is a total disruption that's going to continue overnight and until Obama leaves tomorrow. Combined with road closures, the War Memorial being off-limits to the public for the entire day, and Americans running round telling us where we can and can't be in our own city, and given that the visit only a week or so ago of the Queen and Phil the Greek didn't cause much disruption at all, I'd be happy if the POTUS dropped us off the list of places to visit until they can make their visits as low-impact as most other foreign heads of state that come here...

6. Are you attempting to go for an ad hominem attack
Assuming that all Israelis or the "Israeli settlement movement" was a monolothic group, I seriously doubt they have the "official newspaper" of the settlement movement.
