Gaza militants fire Grad rocket at Be'er Sheva following IDF strike
Tensions continued to rise along Israel's border with the Gaza Strip earlier Wednesday, as Gaza militants fired a Grad-type Katyusha rocket at the southern city of Be'er Sheva early Wednesday, mere hours after another Grad exploded south of the coastal city of Ashdod.

According to initial reports, the Grad rocket struck a street in the middle of one of the city's residential areas. Upon impact, a piece of shrapnel penetrated a nearby third-floor apartment, moderately wounding one man.

The attack came after a Grad rocket fired from Gaza exploded south of Ashdod on Tuesday, following after a day of escalation along the border. The IDF later issued a statement claiming that an Israel Air Force craft fired at figures suspected in launching the Katyusha-type rocket, killing one.

1. Israel kills 9 Gazans in day of strikes
Israeli warplanes killed four Palestinians in an air strike on Az-Zaitoun neighborhood south of Gaza City on Tuesday evening, medics said.

The attack came hours after Israeli artillery fire hit a home east of Gaza City killing a child, a teenager and three adults.

<snip>

The army official said the men targeted were from the same group that launched a grad rocket into Israel on February 23, but could not say how they had been identified.

Earlier in the day, Israeli tanks fired at a home on An-Nazzaz Street in the eastern part of the Ash-Shaja’iya neighborhood in Gaza City.

2. of course there will be....that passive thing didn't work out to well
of course retaliation doesn't work out that well either, but of the two options its the better one. I guess hamas wasn't satisfied with just attacking israeli border patrols with the IDF limiting its responses to the border areas.

maybe hamas isn't getting in the news enough lately, hence their now attacking israeli cities with military rockets??
(hmm there goes the kassam rockets don't count because they are too small excuse)
