Border guards bar infant from Jlem medical treatment
JERICHO (Ma'an) -- Israeli soldiers deployed at the Zaytoun checkpoint east of Jerusalem turned away a mother and child with a medical permit to enter the city, on the grounds that the 18-month-old child was not her legitimate son.

Soldiers told Umm Mohammed that her son Mohammad Kahlil Abu Dahuk was in fact a Gaza resident, and could not enter Jerusalem for treatment at the Makassed Hospital, where he was referred for blood work.

Umm Mohammed is a West Bank resident living in Jericho, where her infant son was being treated for a blood disorder at the Jericho Government Hospital.

The Abu Dahud family told Ma'an on Thursday, shortly after the mother and child were refused access to the hospital, that they were refused entry for no reason. Mohammed, his mother said, was registered on her own identity card, being to young to receive his own.

"He has been on the records since he was born," his father said, condemning the border guards who turned his wife away.

Head of Jericho hospital Naser A’nani confirmed that he had referred the child to the hospital and filed the necessary paperwork for a medical permit to be issued. He said the child needed to see a specialist, and referred him to the larger hospital in Jerusalem.

A spokesman for the Israeli border guards, who operate the checkpoint, said he would look into the claim in the coming days.

4. Mudplanet: You yourself make the choice to pay your taxes...
you can certainly choose not to pay them. Some of us wish that you would choose this last option.

You are the one individual on this board who posts on one topic and changes the topic by your 2nd or 3rd post...consistently.

5. and what is that "last option" and what will that lead to?
so in essence what your saying is that you or "some of us" would that be your 'team' want to see the poster your addressing jailed?

6. I have no team. "Last option" referred to not paying taxes...
that was his/her choice. Even on this thread came the usual...my tax money. As if he/she was the only taxpayer on this thread.

He/she is a consistant violator of Skinner's General Rule #4...changing topics within a thread for one's favorite theme.

Snark I don't need.

8. That would be his/her choice would it not?
Perhaps he could tell us exactly how much of his tax money goes to causes he does not support. Over 100 million taxpayers in the country...what is the amount he is constantly crying about?

Anyway, is this thread about healthcare for an infant or something else?

9. yes it would but he has not mentioned such an act you have
the thread is about IDF denying healthcare to a baby for tenuous reasons but at least they did not say it because they could not interrogate the child

10. I mentioned choices he/she COULD have made vis-a-vis his/her...
taxes. I neither ordered such a choice nor suggested in any way that he/she do such a thing. On the other hand, you are making mountains out of molehills--something you are very good at by the way.

I am on this board because I want to learn the things I don't know from several of you other posters who are extremely knowledgeable about the I/P situation. I resent, and rightfully so, those posters who start a thread with flamebait headlines and then change to their usual rant about other matters in violation of Skinner's General Rule #4 about changing topics.

Once the topic is changed, the thread becomes a catfight and accomplishes nothing. The poster being discussed manages to get his tax situation in support of Israel into every thread he starts. One gets tired of such meaningless repetition.

In this thread, we might all have done better to dig for more details about why this infant was refused care. That is the way DU operated 10 years ago.
