is not a war crime. Civilians -- that's more difficult to defend. Unless they're the ones inhabiting confiscated land. I think doing that pretty much puts a target on your back.

The Palestinians are being idiots IMHO. There are so many universally justifiable ways to strike at the occupying force, and they do things like launch rockets into residential neighborhoods in Israel proper and blow up people in coffee shops. That is not the way to get international support, which they badly need.

Don't you just love these peaceful Palestinian activists.

So far, 50 or so of the interned passengers have been deported back to their home countries. Of the rest, apparently they have failed to identify themselves so are resting in prison for the time being.

The attack came about because some people failed to take Israel's warning seriously...or made the blockade breach a cause celebre.

Note: This can't be piracy...Israel forces operated under their own flags and the troops involved were uniformed. Hamas operates under no flag and has no uniforms other than regular civilian wear. Sometimes, they even peacefully strap explosives around themselves for an express trip to paradise.
