Infiltrator stabs boy, 9, in West Bank settlement
A 9-year-old boy living in the West Bank settlement of Shalhevet, near Yitzhar, was stabbed by an infiltrator early Saturday morning. Police suspect the perpetrator was Palestinian.

The initial investigation into the incident raised suspicion that the Palestinian man had been setting fire to abandoned buildings in the area when the boy came out at him. The Palestinian attacked the boy and fled the scene, the police believe.

The boy sustained minor wounds and was taken to a hospital in Petah Tikvah for medical care.

1. I think it's extraordinarily irresponsible to bring children into those illegal settlements.
I'm not justifying what happened at all, just saying that it's an unacceptable risk to bring children into that sort of situation.

2. This isn't the first attack on a child there...
But this kid is a Palestinian and that seems to make a difference to some who post every attack on an Israeli but don't bother when it comes to attacks on Palestinians...

Unknown assailants hurl brick at car in West Bank, injuring 7-year-old Palestinian girl

A Palestinian woman and her 7-year-old daughter were wounded Friday when unknown assailants hurled a brick at their car as it was passing the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar.

Security officials in the area told Haaretz the incident is severe, and they will investigate suspicions that the assailants are settlers who live in the area.

Local authorities in the area of Judea and Samaria where the incident took place met with police Friday to demand they bring the assailants to justice.

Civilian authorities allowed the mother and daughter to drive to Tel Aviv for medical treatment at Ichilov Hospital. The two victims, residents of Ramallah, were visiting relatives in Tul Karm and were on their way home when the incident took place.

Recent weeks have seen an upturn in the number of reports of violent incidents against Palestinians by West Bank settlers.

This week, two Italian peace activists issued a complaint that they and a group of Palestinian children were attacked by settlers. The activists were reportedly escorting the children home from Summer camp outside Hebron, even though the children were supposed to have been escorted by IDF troops due to recent episodes of violence by settlers.

6. Obviously...
that depends who you ask.

A Palestinian's life is bound to be worth far less to a settler than to the average Israeli.

3. Four Palestinians hurt as West Bank settlers retaliate for stabbing
A Palestinian infiltrator stabbed a 9-year-old settler in the West Bank outpost of Shalhevet early Saturday, sparking a settler rampage in the nearby Palestinian village Asira al-Kabaliya.

The Israel Defense Forces reported that four Palestinians had been hurt in the clashes, two of them moderately.

The mayor of the village, Hosni Sharaf, said dozens of settlers from Yitzhar, the settlement adjacent to Shalhevet, fired their weapons in the air, overturned a car and broke the windows of three homes. The mayor said several residents had been wounded, of which two were shot with live rounds.

The Israel Defense Forces imposed a curfew on Asira al-Kabaliya following the clash.

Events began early Saturday when a Palestinian man set fire to an abandoned building in Shalhevet, the IDF said. The boy was stabbed when he spotted the intruder and tried to call for help, the military said. The boy was treated for minor wounds at a hospital in Petah Tikvah.
