'We're the original owners of this land'
This fellow seems upset.

Balad chairman Azmi Bishara, who left Israel two weeks ago before announcing his plans to resign for the Knesset, attacked the state of Israel on Friday, saying that "it was unable to rise to the challenge he posed to its Jewish nature and to Zionism."

"We (Arabs) are the original owners of this land," he told A-Shams Radio. "They want us to act like guests in our own country and to prove all the time that all is well. All is not well. We are Palestinian Arabs, the children of this land and we will act in a manner fitting for a people who oppose occupation and aggression."

---

Bishara said that the accusations being leveled against him were severe and were security related. He said he could not elaborate due to the gag order placed on the case, preferring to exclaim: "Now the rules of the game have changed. When you hear the accusations made against me you will understand that there are now different rules."

When asked about reports that he was seeking political asylum abroad, Bishara said that they were baseless. "I am an MK who still has immunity and I have the right to travel," he said.

1. MK Azmi Bishara accuses Israeli media of inciting his murder
MK Azmi Bishara (Balad) lashed out Friday against the country's Hebrew-language media, accusing them of incitement against him.

"The publication of a photograph of my home and its address in newspapers constitutes incitement to murder. It makes me rethink my position as a Knesset member," Bishara said in an exclusive interview to the Nazareth radio station A-Shams, his first interview to electronic media since leaving Israel three weeks ago.

Bishara said he would grant interviews to other Arabic-language media outlets over the coming days.

Bishara was guarded in his remarks because of the impossibility of discussing the reasons behind the announcement of his probable resignation from the Knesset. A hearing on the issue is to be held this morning at the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court, at the request of Balad and several media outlets, including Haaretz.
