Survey: Leftists prefer Palestinians to settlers
While most Israeli Jews rank Palestinians first on their hostility scale, left-wing Israelis hate settlers more, new survey reveals

<snip>

"Israelis who support left-wing parties are more hostile toward Jewish settlers than they are toward the Palestinians, a new survey reported by Israel’s leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth on Monday revealed.

The survey, which was conducted by Prof. Dalia Mor of The College of Management in Rishon Letzion, aimed at examining the attitudes of 500 Jewish respondents toward the different ectors in Israeli society: Ashkenazi Jews, Sepharadic Jews, secular Jews, settlers, ultra-orthodox Jews, rightists, leftists, Israeli-Arabs, Palestinians, new immigrants, settlers and foreign workers.

The survey revealed that the public most hated by the Jewish population are the Palestinians, followed by the settlers.

However, with respondents who defined themselves left-wing supporters, hostility toward the settlers ranked higher (67 percent), than hostility toward the Palestinians (55 percent)."

2. occupation of the territories and protection of
the more isolated settlemens is very expensive. lots of israelis don't like to spend their military time on occupation duty for the exclusive benefit of a handful of settlers. The suburban settlemnts of Jersualem are another matter, and will never be given over to a palestinian state.

3. Nobody believes it -
but the further LEFT you go in the Israeli body politic, the less "anti-Palestinian/pro-settler", equivalently, the more "pro-Palestinian/anti-settler" they become.

The Israeli body politic is NOT 100% Likud.

4. hostile toward the settlers....
no doubt about that.....we've had enough of the "messianic" we know whats good for you" attitude......the only problem is that the missles and mortors and tunnels and lack of responsabiity emmitting from the PA and their some of their peers is worse.

so until the PA can do something about that....we'll defend our settlers.....
