Gaza evacuees plan to move to new West Bank settlement
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/627617.html

<snip>

"Former Gaza settlers said Wednesday they plan to move their mobile homes to a former army post in the West Bank and that they were informally assured of government backing.

Such a move, if approved by the government, would violate Israel's promises to the United States not to establish new settlements and not to encourage Gaza settlers to move to the West Bank. Under the U.S.-backed "road map" peace plan, Israel is also required to freeze settlement construction."

<snip>

"Settlers from Gaza's Shirat Hayam outpost said Wednesday they plan to move their trailers to Maskiyot, a former army post in the West Bank's Jordan Valley. About 20 families would settle the outpost, they said.
Dubi Tal, a Jordan Valley settler leader, said government officials have given the Gaza settlers a verbal promise that they can move to Maskiyot, and that final approval should come within two months."

<snip>

"Palestinians said any decision to move Gaza settlers to Maskiyot would ruin the positive atmosphere created by the Gaza withdrawal. "It seems that the Israelis give with one hand and take away with the other," Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said. "This violates the road map, which is not proceeding."

1. That's typical.....
...pull them out of one area which Israel illegally occupied and settle them on another illegally occupied piece of Land - so in a few years we can pay for that pullout, too.
