Pakistani investigated for possible terror ties (Tx)
I posted this last night in LBN but, as it was not about Berg, videos, or asteroids, it died.

Take a look.

1. At first glance I thought the title said "Pataki"...
...that would be big news!

2. Gee...
Wasn't it just a few days ago the bullets for brains bunch were jeering at several news stories that noted that terrorists were taking advantage of America's lax gun laws to try to buy weapons?

Sure it was.

4. If he is buying on the black market, then the laws are giving...
...him trouble.

It is not the guns I am worried about. It is the silencers and C-4 that have me concerned.

6. Well, that says it all...
"It is not the guns I am worried about."
<sarcasm>Yeah, who cares about terrorists with guns...after all, what possible harm could they do?

5. Let's all go and read what the article actually says...

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2566335

An arrest affidavit states he purchased a Glock 9 mm pistol and an illegal silencer for $2,000 cash during the sting at the Tyler Hampton Inn....

A sidearm, ONE pistol, not anything close to the "assault rifles" claimed incorrectly to be widely available by MrBenchley's Chicken Little friends at the CSGV.

As JayS noted, the C4 and silencers should be a lot more of a concern than any kind of firearm.

The bottom line here is that our laws regulating sales of explosives and sound suppressors WORKED. They guy has been caught, is in custody, and will never again be a threat to public safety.
