Boyfriend Shoots Woman In Her Car, Police Say

A Covington woman is in critical condition after her ex-boyfriend shot her before taking his own life Thursday morning, according to police.

Police said the man shot Minika Monroe in the head while she was sitting inside her car at Linn and Livingston streets in the West End, just after midnight.

The suspect then took off in a white Toyota, leading police on a high speed chase that finally ended at the corner of West 8th and Elberon in Price Hill.

That's when police said the man turned the gun on himself.
