Man attacked by pit bulls in Kirkland park, opens fire
Edited on Mon May-23-11 05:46 PM by RamboLiberal
KIRKLAND, Wash. - A leisurely Saturday afternoon in the park quickly mutated into a real-life horror scene when three pit bulls attacked a man and his German shepherd without warning, police said.

During the unprovoked attack, the man pulled out his concealed weapon and opened fire, hitting one of the pit bulls and scaring off the others.

"If I didn't have my gun - I'd be dead right now," he later told KOMO News.

"It was an instant decision. It's not something I wanted to do. I love animals."

One reason I carry when I'm out with my shepherd/husky mix. Too many aholes who allow their pit bulls or other big breeds to run loose or not keep them properly contained at their homes.

First time I've ever seen someone wearing a CCW badge - bet the police were impressed. :sarcasm:

3. Ban people in public.
At least that would do something about crime, where as your idea is about the most useless concept out there when it comes to addressing the issue of crime.

11. Ban Hoyt from public...
...and the internet. Probably make more people happier in the greater scheme of things. It would also save countless electrons from his abuse...:D

5. That kind of badge is NOT a good idea.
The idea is that to clip the badge on after a shooting to identify yourself as on of the good guys. The police won't like something that looks like a badge and confuse people. It makes it look like you want people to think you are a cop and they won't like that. Some states even have laws against it. Most gun forums agree that these are a real bad idea.

CCW badges are strictly "mall ninja" gear.

Let me add this the people that wear such badges are (IME) authoritarian wanna bes that like to pretend they are cops

9. I wouldn't say that....
I kind of understand the concept of wanting to have a visual declaration of being "one of the good guys", but this method merely buys into the myth that guns are only for the select few... and that is entirely the wrong image to present of a Civil Right.

I do hope he and his dog are O.K.

10. I thought I didn't need to carry when walking my German Shepherd
but I do carry because I am not going to be caught in a situation with other dogs attacking her. She is part of my family and will protect her.
