Two neighbours shot each other in a dog mess row.

Terry Tehnet, 52, went next door to complain to Jerry Blasingame, 60, as his dog had defecated on his lawn.

But Mr Blasingame accused him of shooting his pet the previous week and asked the complainant for a shoot-out.

19. Some light reading on the subject.

"A Polite Exchange of Bullets: The Duel and the English Gentleman, 1750-1850"

Duelling with firearms grew in popularity in the 18th century, especially with the adoption of the Irish Code Duello, "adopted at the Clonmel Summer Assizes in 1777 for the government of duellists by the gentlemen of County Tipperary, County Galway, County Mayo, County Sligo and County Roscommon, and prescribed for general adoption throughout Ireland."

Typical weapons were cased duelling pistols, tuned for identical appearance, reliability and accuracy. In America, the Irish code eventually supplanted the usual method of brutal hand-to-hand combat and gave the combat a respectable feel.

As this happened in Mississppi, it properly should have been held on a sand bar. Southern US Code of Honor

Duelling does have a certain elegance. First, one has to determine if their position is one worth dying over, second, once consumated, one party is eminently satisfied with the result while the other is not in a position to bitch.

I really owed her that bicycle. And it's a real pleasure to me that she uses it regularly.

4. At least it was only the two genetic defectives that shot eachother. Cleaning
out the gene pool. I mean, lobotomies should be mandatory for these people.

Hopefully they will be prohibited from owning guns after they get out of jail.

7. How do you ask for a shoot-out?

How do you ask for a shoot-out? Is this like dueling at 20 paces at dawn or something?

17. From one of the other articles that was posted, it seems that one of the guys
told the other to "get your gun and meet me at the levee!" Apparently the challenger then drove off, and when the other didn't come along he came back to continue the 'discussion'...
