Chairs as a solution to guns!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1278092/Have-hero-Martin-Richardson-batters-gun-wielding-robber-chair.html

Well, I guess if you have a brown belt in Judo you can just smash armed robbers with your physical strength!

Never say never, I guess!

6. Did it turn out to be a fake?
I didn't see that anywhere in the article.

My thought was that the robber wasn't prepared to use the gun, even though he had it. Good thing in this case, but a cautionary note to anyone who plans to use a gun in self defense. Actions just like this, but with the roles reversed, is how people get their guns taken away by bad guys.

8. From the article:
"CCTV images show him threatening the cashier with his gun. Unknown to anyone at the time, it was a replica and he was handed some cash."

People with real guns tend to shoot them before letting a criminal get them. The whole meme of 'having one's gun taken away' is not actually supported by fact.

"The court heard it was Sulman’s fourth raid on the chain and the third on the same premises.

He was trying to fund a £200-a-week cannabis habit."

$300 bucks a week for weed? How much would that buy? How spacy was the robber?
