I warned you all about Kirsten Gillibrand

Looks like she's no longer pro-RKBA now that she's in the Senate. I told you folks that she was just an oppurtunist.

However, brave progressives like Russ Feingold and Tom Udall voted YES on this amendment. The rest of the Democratic "yes" voters are mainly Blue Dog-esque shills.

Here's the REAL question you have to ask yourself--would her vote have made a difference?

Political expediency is a fact of life. Everyone, from Obama on down, exercises it.

somebody has finally commented on this. Sometimes we need to think of "the possible" on our way to the ideal. The ideal is not always achievable immediately.

S.Amdt.575
SEC. X04. REPEAL D.C. SEMIAUTOMATIC BAN.

(a) In General.--Section 101(10) of the Firearms Control Regulations Act of 1975 (sec. 7-2501.01(10), D.C. Official Code) is amended to read as follows:

``(10) `Machine gun' means any firearm which shoots, is designed to shoot, or may be readily restored to shoot automatically, more than 1 shot without manual reloading by a single function of the trigger, and includes the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any part designed and intended solely and exclusively, or combination of parts designed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machine gun, and any combination of parts from which a machine gun can be assembled if such parts are in the possession or under the control of a person.''.

District of Columbia Official Code
(10) " Machine gun " means any firearm which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily converted or restored to shoot:

(A) Automatically, more than 1 shot by a single function of the trigger;

(B) Semiautomatically, more than 12 shots without manual reloading.
