What if Saddam's Jury Resembled Bush's Coalition?
Ever notice how the President is always pointing out how many nations are involved in the coalition efforts in Iraq. The number of Nations is not a true picture of the make up of the US led forces in Iraq.

With Saddam’s trial coming up, I thought we could conjecture what his jury would look like if had the same make up as the coalition forces that the president keeps mentioning.

Out of the twelve jurors:

The first TEN out of the box are Americans.

The next one is part British and part Italian that gets us to 11 total jurors.

The final juror on this panel is a mix of 31 different nationalities and 13 of those each constitute less that 1% of one juror.

So this hypothetical jury and this coalition, while truly international, is overwhelmingly American and 90% American-British-Italian. By the way, how long has Moldavia been a country?

Details for the wonks among us.

Way to go Dominican Republic you have to be the leader in % of your nation's population in Iraq.

Still another view.

At the website http://www.countryreports.org/ they claim to cover most of the worlds nations and currently list 260 nations of the world.

So, Bush's coalition of 34 nations amounts to 13% of the world’s nations.

Seeing how almost all of the countries comprise a fractional percent of the force, and USA & UK are about 90%, I would say it's an Anglo-American alliance with a pinch of international seasoning.

The US is 4% of the world population. I think that would be a fair share of lives and treasure for us to kick in.

BTW, who is "us"? Got a mouse in your pocket?

3. Of those 34 countries...
How many did we blackmail into supporting us?

How many did we bribe?

How many did we coerce?

It would make for a great push-poll in the tradition of Karl Rove: "If you were told that we gave half a billion to Moldavia to send a Yugo full of troops, would you still view this as a multi-national force.

Do mercenaries count?
