DUBAI, March 19 (Reuters) - Al Qaeda leader Osama bin
Laden threatened the European Union with grave punishment
on Wednesday over cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad.

In an audio recording posted on the Internet, Bin Laden
said the cartoons were part of a "crusade" in which he
said the Catholic Pope Benedict was involved.

The message was released on the fifth anniversary of the
U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

You have to realize he has had health problems since before 1998, and was given "months to live" due to heart problems, diabetes, and cancer.

4. Muslim extremists have much to learn about our Western democracies

It is well known that Osama bin Laden is always looking for excuses to continue his fight against the Western World. However, freedom of expression carries the responsibility of showing respect to other people’s culture and believes. That is one of the many reasons that Muslim extremists (and that of course is only a small minority of the devoted followers of Allah) have so much to learn about our Western democracies. They should not judge everyone in Europe and the Americas just because a rogue newspaper with profits as its priority offended the prophet Mohammad.
