1. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
Edited on Tue Apr-06-04 10:03 PM by NNadir
They have a comprehensive report available on line in many important languages. The four book length reports, "The Scientific Basis," "Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability" "Mitigation," and "Synthesis Report" are also available in print editions.

The IPPC is an arm of the World Meterological Organization which this summer issued a dire warning about climatic instability. The was, of course, largely ignored by our media.

(Don't forget about the important stuff: Did Kobe do it? Did Scott kill Lacy?)

The online reports:

2. Here are the links I regularly visit.
Here is a list of links that I refer to when looking for information on global climate change.

The Heat is Onlin

Gives a great rundown of the issue along with details on the fossil fuel industry funding of junk science.

Official US Government Site on Global Warming

It actually contradicts a lot of the Con's propoganda.

Climate Hot Map

Map of global warming indicators.

Goddard Institute for Space Studies

Comprehensive data sets of global surface temperatures and features the research of Jim Hansen, one of the original scientists to first raise a warning about global climate change. He's a must read.

NOAA Paleoclimatology

This site has a good primer on global warming along with information on ice cores.

National Academy of Science Release on Closure Between Models and Lower Troposphere Temperature measurments

If you debate global warming with a Con, they'll eventually bring up MSU measurements of lower troposphere temperatures that do not match expected model results. The NAS found that they do match when new factors are taken into account. The NAS also has a report on global warming and sudden climate change for download.

NOAA's Carbon Cycle Studies

It has this great graphic below that depicts the global carbon cycle.

EPA Global Warming Site

It has this gem:

Increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases are likely to accelerate the rate of climate change. Scientists expect that the average global surface temperature could rise 1-4.5°F (0.6-2.5°C) in the next fifty years, and 2.2-10°F (1.4-5.8°C) in the next century, with significant regional variation. Evaporation will increase as the climate warms, which will increase average global precipitation. Soil moisture is likely to decline in many regions, and intense rainstorms are likely to become more frequent. Sea level is likely to rise two feet along most of the U.S. coast.

6. Here's a few more good ones
A fully integrated, hyperlinked rundown of the history of climate change science and politics. Well sourced:

The Discovery of Global Warming

http://www.aip.org/history/climate/index.html

Not maintained regulalrly, but often enough to make it a valuable source;

Correcting Myths about Global

http://info-pollution.com/warming.htm

Stanford University's Stephen Schneider has a great page. Covers science and politics. Well maintained with links to important primary documents. Excellent sceptic debunker site becuase he addresses most of their talking points explicitly.
