Has anyone ever seen The Emerald Forest
John Boorman made the movie in the 80's. I found it breathtaking then and just saw it again the other night. it was based on a true story, the message it sent is haunting.

3. I saw it on video in 1985 or 86.........
Fantastic movie. Beautiful scenery.

In the scene where the anglo boy and his tribe approach the city to look for their stolen women, the contrast between the forest and the treeless, concrete city is startling!

4. they called it the dead world
the indigenous chief had taken the boy in the first place because he couldn't bare the child being brought up in the dead world.

5. After more than an hour spent seeing........
the lush greenery of that dense forest, the city did look like hell!
