I'm in SW Missouri, near the 4 state area of ks, ok, mo and ar...the weather man said the other day, that their were 18 days in January, where the temps were over 60 degree's. Our weather has been like Spring weather, and no shit on this...last weekend I was outside pruning tree's and planting, don't ask me why, I just did...it felt like spring weather to me. I'm from alaska, and I can't stand this moderate crap! Bring on the rain/ice/snow please...:) So my wife can call in, on those snow days....:)

edit:spelling

4. Shorts in Maine?
How about golf in Wisconsin? The local newspaper reported that this January was our warmest or second warmest January---depending on location. Here in SE Wisconsin the temperature averaged 14 degrees above normal. The weather records date back to the 1870s so we're talking about 135 years. The first three days of February have also been warm but it is supposed to get back to normal next week.

5. Yeah, I saw some TV weather idiot

talk about this... his basic response (to the question "Is the unusually warm January evidence of Global Warming") was "Ask the people in Eastern Europe and Russia about global warming!" (being dismissive of the question).

Of course, he is not a climatologist... and to keep calling it "Global Warming" is a mistake. It's Global Climate Change (and yes, the global mean temperature IS rising, but more important is the increasing evidence of greater climatic variations ). The sooner we start using climate change as the terminology of choice (and try to get the MSM to use the same) the better. Europe may enter into a mini-ice age... and north america may experience much warmer winters (and increased extreme weather events... more hurricanes, more tornados...)

Sigh.

12. It's screwing up my experiments.

I'm trying to break a glass bottle with freezing ice in my backyard and it damn well won't go below
freezing. I don't want to have to do this in the fridge. :+
