Hurricane Otis (Pacific) aiming at Baja, CA
In the eastern Pacific, Hurricane Otis remains a Category 2 system with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph. Otis should continue paralleling the Pacific coast of southern Baja California during the next few days and make landfall in central Baja California late Sunday night or early Monday. Hurricane warnings are now posted from Agua Blanca to Puerto San Andresito. Tropical storm warnings are posted on either side of the hurricane warning on Baja's Pacific coast and also on Baja's Gulf of California coast. Dangerous rip currents, 12-to-18-foot waves, heavy rain, and gusty winds are on tap for southern Baja. It's possible that remnant moisture from Otis will get pulled northward into Arizona early next week.

PS: Storm name of the year goes to Typhoon "Longwang", currently threatening Taiwan. Uh... huh-huh.

4. Gulf of Ca hot
Wonder if this thing could rebuild when it gets over the Gulf of Califonia where the water is in the 90s. Also California is due for another offshore wind event starting Monday. Could be some interesting weather in SoCal. Bob

5. I always thought
Hurricanes in the Pacific were called typhoons. Same type of storm but a different name depending upon which ocean it comes from.
