AT&T to pay $40,000 in San Jose fuel spill
(07-21) 15:39 PDT SAN JOSE -- AT&T agreed to pay more than $40,000 to settle a lawsuit over 1,300 gallons of diesel fuel that flowed from a San Jose facility into the Guadalupe River last year, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office said today.

The office said AT&T, in a settlement that became effective today, will pay $10,000 in penalties as well as $30,490 to reimburse the public agencies that responded to the Oct. 2 spill.
