Wind Shift at Japan Reactor Site - radioactive plume to blow inland Sat-Sun. Accuweather.com
http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/47125/wind-shift-for-japan-reactor-s.asp

Shifting winds lie ahead for the Japanese nuclear reactor, likely culminating in an interval of unfavorable onshore winds before the end of the week.

Favorable offshore winds have been blowing over the site, which faces the open Pacific Ocean to the east, since Wednesday, local time, when a winter storm headed away to the east of northern Japan.

On Friday and Saturday, high pressure will build eastward over southern Japan, thereby shutting off the cold northwesterly flow. Still, winds at the nuclear site will remain offshore, shifting from west to northwest on Friday, then west to southwest on Saturday.

An all-important shift to onshore winds will happen Saturday night and Sunday, local time, with the eastward departure of the high and the approach of an eastbound storm from the Sea of Japan.

2. Many thanks to you and nadinbrzinski and all the others for keeping
DU informed, (good news and bad) about the nature of things in Japan, earthquake, tsunami, volcano, then snow, but scariest of all the possibility of nuclear radiation.

3. I'd rather see it blowing the other way
cause its a longer way to where people live and maybe some of it will fall out before it hits land.

4. Not good. But we may finally know how much is escaping per hour.
So far, that information has been secret.
