Human Monorail System Receives Google Dollars [Video]
After scouring the world for two years in search of the most innovative, creative and forward thinking transportation company Google announced human powered monorail system developer Shweeb as the recipient of its Project 10^100 award.

New Zealand based Shweeb will receive US$1 million to further research and development of a transportation system that combines existing monorail technology with the aerodynamic efficiency of recumbent bicycles.

1. Okay, I really like that.
And maybe electric assist for those who'd need it?

You could also have some high velocity twist and turn downhill canyon routes...

2. Practical
It seems pretty practical as well. The electric assist would be a great addition. I also was impressed when it was explained that two cars will travel faster when they are connected -- which eliminates the question of slow-pokes causing traffic jams.

I am curious how you would employ stopping points, though?

3. I can't put my bycicle in it.

and I don't want a web of rails all over the place.

Access is also limited. Older, younger and disabled people couldn't use it.

Otherwise it's neat.
