Compromise or Dilution? Kerry and Lieberman Agree to Scale Back the American Power Act
This news is surprising, but our continued politicking is absolutely tiresome and draining.

In a meeting today with the President and key Republican Senators, John Kerry and Joe Lieberman agreed to reduce the ambitious targets in their energy bill.

Today's news is not entirely surprising -- Senators Lieberman and Kerry have been making concessions to the American Power Act since they first proposed it.

1. Blame the 13 Dem senators who refused to support the significant Kerry-Boxer bill

submitted at the end of last year.

They are the ones forcing the current bill's compromises.

You target one of the few lawmakers willing to stay in the fight even under the burdens caused by a significant number of Dems unwilling to support a more significant bill.

2. I'm targeting the whole system.
Kerry has carried the torch for quite some time. I think it is atrocious that the U.S. politicians will water the climate/energy bill down to skeletal remains. Americans are ready for a new energy paradigm, some major business players are not, and the politicians, those elected to represent the people, are succumbing to a select few special interests.

This is not new, but it doesn't mean it isn't disgraceful.

3. No...your target is clearly Kerry in that piece as if he deserves discrediting which only benefits

and strengthens the positions of those corporatists opposing Kerry's stricter guidelines.

Kerry has been running this unpopular climate change marathon for 2 years with every obstacle and hurdle thrown at him from every direction, and now that he's on the last stretch of it you and others want to further cripple him by burdening him with the blame for the hurdles being thrown.

Can you show what you wrote about the 13 Dem senators who forced these compromises by opposing the original Kerry-Boxer bill?
