5. I can't agree with the President on offshore oil, but of course, the importance of nuclear energy
does not depend on either of the very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very stupid logical fallacies of http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/poisoning-the-well.html">Poisoning the Well or http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-authority.html">Appeal to Authority.

Logical fallacies are fun of course, but they are not thinking.

The fact that Sarah Palin hates science and doesn't know any, and that she supports nuclear power does not imply that dumb anti-nukes love science or know lots of it.

In fact it is intuitively obvious that anti-nukes hate science, particularly nuclear science, about which they know nothing at all.

The fact that there is NOT ONE anti-nuke who loves science or knows science, which is why almost all anti-nuke arguments are essentially textbook cases of logical fallacies.

8. It's a hot button issue. Most right wingers love it because lefties hate it.
Policy decisions should not be based on hot button contentions.

17. Does this poll indicate that most Americans don't believe in global warming?

Is it even relevant toward policy?

Hot button polls are irrelevant toward social policy, or they should be. Otherwise we'd be teaching evolution in schools, homosexuality would be banned, and emissions (in our country) would be going up.

9. Obama pushes back on Palin criticism
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama snapped back at Sarah Palin and her criticisms about his nuclear defense policy, calling the former Alaska governor "not much of an expert on nuclear issues."

Obama's comments came when asked for a response about a Palin critique that he was like a kid poised for a playground fight who said 'Go ahead, punch me in the face and I'm not going to retaliate. Go ahead and do what you want to with me."

"I really have no response," Obama told ABC News. "Because last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues."

The interview occurred Thursday in Prague, where Obama signed a treaty with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that orders both nations to shrink their nuclear arsenals. That deal that must still be ratified by the Russian parliament and the U.S. Senate.

Palin was referring to another development on the nuclear front this week, a rewriting of American nuclear strategy.

Among many other elements of that new plan, the U.S. makes plain that if a non-nuclear nation is in compliance with an international nonproliferation treaty, the United States will not threaten or use nuclear weapons against it.

If such a state were to use chemical or biological weapons against the U.S. or its allies, it would face a potentially devastating conventional military strike by the U.S., but not a nuclear one.

Palin probably doesn't even know the difference between nuclear weapons and nuclear energy.

10. Apparently you don't know the difference between nuclear power and nuclear weapons.
At least that is the message your header provides. Not an accident, I'm sure.

You love nuclear power - Palin loves nuclear power. You'd rather people not think of that so much, eh?

11. Logical Fallacy
http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/guilt-by-association.html

Guilt by Association is a fallacy in which a person rejects a claim simply because it is pointed out that people she dislikes accept the claim.

Otherwise you leave the impression that you are economically aligned with them.

I think you have more of a "you're either with us or against us" attitude.

You know who else had that attitude?

You know who you act like?

That's much closer to being someone then just having a single position in common.
