Fabulous Exciting Pics of Biofuel Growth in Europe THIS YEAR!!!!!

anuary, 2009
A man chops firewood in the suburbs of Sofia. Bulgaria, which is 100 per cent dependent on Russian gas, instructed industrial gas users to switch to alternative fuels and urged households to use other forms of heating.

As a condition of joining the wonderful EU, led at the time by Germany, which was then governed by Gazprom Executive Gerhard Schroeder, Bulgaria was forced to shut its perfectly functional nuclear reactors. This has almost certainly been a great growth opportunity for the coal fired plants of Greece, which also power Italy, another country with non-existent nuclear power infrastructure.

A typical nuclear reactor runs on 100 MT of fuel for about close to 2 years.

More biofuels heaven:

Workers cut wood to burn in Sarajevo's suburbs. Demand for alternative ways of heating has soared after delivery of Russian gas to Bosnia was halted. Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is almost totally dependent on Russian gas, had no reserves even for household heating.

According to CNN, the Bosnians are particular adept at looking at the bright side of Gazprom dependent life:

But although Bosnia-Herzegovina is relying on emergency supplies of gas from other countries such as Hungary and Germany, Cerimagic is looking on the bright side.

"Today it's a little bit warmer: -5 Celsius (23 Fahrenheit.) Normally it's -10, -13," he said.

And he pointed out that the country emerged from war less than a decade ago, which might make Bosnians more stoic about suffering through a cold winter.

"People are saying, 'At least there is no shooting,'" he said. "So we will survive."

The wind powered plants have provided so much energy to Europe, that no one is actually noticing that the gas was, um, shut off by Gerhard's owners.

Um, well, sort of...

The total windpower production of Denmark has an average power capacity of a single 700 MW dangerous fossil fueled power plant operating at 100% capacity utilization.

After 10 years of great cheering, the entire German nation can produce the equivalent - were it reliable which it isn't - amount of energy to two 1000 MW coal plants at 100% capacity utilization, 17TWh.

Today, as of this writing, in Frankfurt Germany, wind speeds are a robust 2 miles per hour in foggy conditions as of 6:10 a.m. local time.
