1. I hope the Republicans can do a decent job handling this.
Now we will see the difference between trying and not trying.

If they are as lackadaisical about it this time around, they simply want to lose.

I bet if it passes just a hair to the left of that tracking, It's going to hit both hot spots in the gulf and pick up, too.

12. A question occurs to me...
...has all that floodwater from Iowa drained from the Mississppi yet? I can't find a definitive answer anywhere, but it would unfortunate if NOLA got hit by another hurricane while the river was unusually high.

To put it mildly.

15. Don't worry, be happy ...
All of the floodwater is busy replenishing the drained aquifers by slowly
filtering through the water-meadows across the flood plains along the
length of the river. No problem, just nature doing what it does best!

Oh ... wait a minute ...

14. I hope that folks in Jamaica and the Caymans start preparations now!
All-in-all, that's one ugly looking track.

Ray Nagin is cutting short his stay in Denver to get back. If Gustav hits NO, I hope that they are better prepared than they were last time.
