Coolest packing material - ever.

http://www.expandos.com/

A friend dropped a 33gallon trash bag full of these by the gallery a couple of weeks ago.
I picked up the bag and half of it spilled out on this cool red leather chair, across an ancient Chinese trunk and out across a rug.

I was about to scoop it all back into the bag when a very sophisticated couple walked in and started looking around.

Keep in mind that our gallery is Pan-Asian,pretty high-end and full of mostly very old stuff. Visual merchandising is an art form with us.

So this couple walks around, really getting off on our inventory and stumble across this packing material spilled about. The woman walks all around it and asks, "This is a brilliant installation. Whose is it?".

I just didn't have it in me to tell her what it was, so I just told her I had done it that morning.

They took all kinds of pics of it.

And this continued for over a week. Dozens of people who were by and large very astute.

And the trash bag was sitting beside the "installation" the whole time.

Only in Tiburon.

But anyone here who ships should really check this stuff out.

1. Great story!!
I've received a couple of shipments packed with that. It's really cool looking!

BTW, most of those packing stores like the UPS store or PostNets will take bags of peanuts. I never throw packing out.

2. Cool stuff
Personally, when I pack stuff, I use popcorn, a hot air popper and I am good to go. It's edible and if you don't want to eat it, the birds love it, especially in the winter for holiday gifts.

5. Of all the pics taken, I never took any.
They now fill a trio of fluted glass vases 32", 36", and 40" tall.

And they stop traffic on the sidewalk.

If I knew how to post a pic, I would. The process has been explained to me several times, but danged if I can figure it out. Just posting here pushes me to the outer limits of my technical expertise and ability.

I can, however, play a wicked slide guitar.
