Banks welcome commods talent despite trading curbs
NEW YORK, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Wall Street banks have not let up on their search for star traders and other experts in commodities despite trading restrictions planned by the U.S. government and regulators.
"If I could have five more people to recruit for me, I'll still be short of help," said Vikram Tandon, director of commodities hiring at Options Group in New York, a headhunting firm serving banks and investment firms.
"We have placed about half a dozen people for January itself and are on track to do maybe double or triple that by the end of this quarter," Tandon said.
Some banks are even looking to expand into physical trading -- taking delivery and storing commodities such as grain, metals and crude oil -- if the U.S. government limits their ability to trade commodities futures.

Sure seems like it could become a bubble.
